This year's HIE event kicked off with a big Welcome from the five person panel - Em Jannings spoke in English, Richi Rizzoli in German, Minord Loup welcomed everyone in French, Lorenza Colicigno in Italian, and finally Ana Maggi made some comments in Spanish, just to give the event a fully international feel right from the start!
I you missed the event, you can watch the whole thing, as it happened, over on the HIE YouTube channel, and in days to come there will also be videos of each individual performance.
The German session was ably moderated by Richi Rizzoli. Richi, a DJ inworld, with his deep rich voice, was a perfect choice as moderator.
Loru Destiny's talk was the first in the German session. The owner of ArtDestiny grid, Loru spoke feelingly about the importance of making the most of the opportunities that Opensim and virtual worlds in general give to us to express our inner self, the playful and fanciful parts of our personality are given free range here, to do things that in the real world might not be possible. But she also spoke of the importance of respect for other people's choices, and of the need for us all to be creative, and kind to one another.
Our last German speaker was Neo Cortex, who spoke about his Story Sequencer tool that allows creators to get NPCs to do all kinds of tasks in a much easier way. This is an opensource project, so free for all to take and to improve, and it's a great gift to our community. Here you can see a couple of Neo's NPCs dancing onstage. Mal Burns liked it so much, he stood on the table to see it better!
