A conference and art performance event for the hypergrid enabled virtual worlds. Not everyone in Opensim is fluent in English. HIE is a 2 day event where residents speak, in their own languages, about about grids they've made, problems they have overcome, their inventions, experiences, and art. And, so that everyone can follow the talks, there are subtitles in German, French, Italian, Spanish and yes, in English too !

End of an Era

This year's Hypergrid International Expo on Craft Grid was held over the weekend of April 19 - 21, as you probably know. It was a fun event, enriched by singers including the Italian Zeno Voxel, the German Wolem Wobbit, and DJ Marlon Wayne, Portuguese singer Zoree Jupiter, who did a set of Fado songs, and Thai performer Ouienanda. It was a kaleidoscope of culture.

We had two days of interesting talks on subjects ranging from education to opensim development, to personal stories of life in the metaverse. Four languages were used for the talks - plus the universal language of art, with fabulous displays by Velazquez Bonetto, Tutz Zabelin, Terra Merhyem, and Cherry Manga.
All this plus Jeff Kelley, CapCat Ragu, Lampithaler Artist, Drusus Zonenations, Gudule Lapointe,  Thirza Ember, and our Moderators, Rosa Alekseev, Tosha Tyran, Dabici Straulino, Lorenza Colicigno and Em Jannings. Plus a huge participation of people of all parts of the metaverse in our huge Expo region -103 booths this year!

Thanks to everyone who participated, we hope you will join us next time

HIE Art

The Hypergrid International Expo is lucky to have a huge number of talented people involved with the various aspects of the event !
We have some excellent speakers, some world class virtual performers, some well beloved grids and on top of all that, some great art. If you read this blog regularly, you will know that in the park that surrounds the auditorium there are Publicity booths or kiosks that celebrate the creativity and community of opensim.
Installation by Azi Az
But interwoven in to that long path around three regions, you will also find many pieces of virtual art.
Among the well-known names who have contributed to the art is Azi Az with this piece that sums up the challenge and the passion that communication creates in a global virtual society.
