Setting up the Expo

The park that surrounds the auditorium for the Hypergrid International Expo, or 'HIE' for short, isn't the biggest expo park in Opensim, or the one with the biggest builds, but it is chock full of fun and diversity every year.

HIE Auditorium 

The Conference part of HIE happens in April - from the opening party on Friday April 4, through two days of talks in French, German, Italian and Spanish, with subtitles provided, if you don't speak those languages.

But before that, and after it also, we have a huge expo where everyone in Opensim, whatever their language, can participate, with a simple booth, like a market stall, where they can tell everyone about their grid, or their sim, or their project. 

Everyone is welcome, there is no charge to participate in this event, and your booth can be simple or more complicated, as you prefer, keeping in mind the need to maintain reasonable levels of lag on the sim.

Here is the booth for 3-World, the first new booth of the 2025 season to be placed in the park. Thanks Bri Ana and Darki for participating.

The location is on HIE region, HG Safari grid, the full HG address is at the end of the post - come over and take a look, as we begin to set out this year's offerings! 

It's a lot of work, contacting all the booth makers, and checking that all the booths are intact, efficient, and in an appropriate place around the park, so your cooperation is really valuable.

The Expo is divided into 4 sections to make it easier to navigate. By the time we're done, there till be about 120 booths - colored markers, show the available spots, but the place is filling up fast, so while it's true you still have a few weeks before the deadline, don't delay... 

The basic booth is super simple, you just modify the texture of the walls, adding your own posters and info. Put a LM or two inside, a freebie if you like, and you're all done. 

Petlove Petshop has made a how-to video that you may find useful  - there are versions in several languages, so share with your friends.  As you can see, although the basic booths are all the same, there is plenty of room for variety.
