A conference and art performance event for the hypergrid enabled virtual worlds. Not everyone in Opensim is fluent in English. HIE is a 2 day event where residents speak, in their own languages, about about grids they've made, problems they have overcome, their inventions, experiences, and art. And, so that everyone can follow the talks, there are subtitles in German, French, Italian, Spanish and yes, in English too !

Saturday at HIE 2023: German session.

The first session of the 2023 Edition of the Hypergrid International Expo began with a ... well let's not deny it, a few teething problems!
Lots of moving parts, to this complicated machine called HIE.
But within minutes of getting started the event was already attracting a nice mix of audience both inworld, on Craft Grid, and on our YouTube channel, where the event is streamed Live. That's where you will find the archive of presentations, in the weeks following this event, so it's worth Subscribing to the channel so you will not miss out. Please Comment, Like and Share, too of course!
The program for the first session began with greeting in five languages - just to get you in the mood!
It was followed by the German session, introduced by Loru Destiny of ArtDestiny grid, a place full of paintings, 3d art, magnificent Star Trek regions and beautiful Fantasy landscapes, great music events also (Moses Rae is resident there) and of course, Loru Destiny's marvelous freebie 'shops' - she is a fantastic designer of original clothes for opensim, and has been for many years; she began with system clothes and now makes rigged mesh that everyone can enjoy.
Loru Destiny
Loru is the organizer of Openim's "Modenschau: or Fashion Show events, featuring original creators of clothes in Opensim like herself, check out her youtube channel, it includes vids of her events and some very good tutorials!
Our first speaker, Dings Digital gave a talk called "Reality and Poetry in the Virtual - Stories and Things". Dings is a storyteller builder and philosopher in virtual worlds, and he has made his home on Craft Grid, his talk was a perfect introduction to our event, as it set the scene for what we were seeking to convey - what it's like to 'live' in opensim.
Dings Digital
Following Dings, a beautiful presentation by Lampithaler Artist, renowned creator of art and the curator of the Pangea Art and Culture Festival, a permanent celebration of the arts on that grid. Her artwork was called, appropriately, "Art Knows No Borders" and the performance included a book she has written - you can pick up your copy at her booth on the Expo, at region HIE 4. When you get a chance to see the video of this performance, admire the music, it's by Pangea's own Reyno Parx

Marlon Wayne
To complete our trio of teutonic titans, Marlon Wayne delivered a speech about his own experience of opensim. From life as a resident on other people's grids, Marlon and his companion Tutz Zabelin gradually developed a plan for a grid that selected friends and partners could share together, with their own unique style, their spirit of sharing and creativity/ They call it Pangea, and it's home to some of the most lovely sims in opensim. Our Opening Panel done and the 90 minutes of German speeches over, the session ended and everyone went to relax for about an hour before the commencement of the Italian session at 9pm Rome time, which is 12 noon SLT.
