The core organizers of HIE each have their own niche and special skills, and Tosha Tyran is no exception. Well known for her re-creation of famous monuments like the Taj Mahal and Angkor Wat, she defines herself as a "Virtual brick layer with a slight tendency towards gigantonomy". Tosha had been active in virtual worlds since 2005. She speaks three languages, in virtual since 2005, and was one of the first four members when Craft Grid was founded, back in 2010.
This conference is the Hypergrid International Expo. What does the word 'International' have for you?
Tosha Tyran: I have long since stopped considering myself a citizen of a single nation. My aim is to act and be seen as an internationalist. Therefore this international event for me is great! It helps to overcome national borders and even languages. This conference gives all avatars - and of course the persons behind them - great opportunity to jump a little higher and see the other side of ones borders. It widens the angle of sight and of mind. What do you hope will be the outcome for the people who attend this event?
Tosha Tyran: I do hope for several things: 1. that we will make new friends; 2. that we get to know the ones we call friends a little better; 3. that all those wonderful artists that have found a home in opensim will be known with all their own special skills..
Is HIE difficult to plan, and why is Craft Grid a good place to hold it?
Tosha Tyran: Yes! It is from my point of view a huge task to plan it and to plan it well. And I am very, very glad I am not the only one trying my hands on it! I love Craft-World and I think that the owner of Craft, Licu Rau, is a very conscientious person who takes very good care of the grid and because he is always delighted to give such events room, time and effort!
Finally, what is your favorite part of the HIE event?
Tosha Tyran: The many languages, definitely! Though it might be one huge cacophony, but an enlightening one though I very much like also the other elements you have mentioned. Especially since I know how much work, passion, planning goes into each and every thing!
