A conference and art performance event for the hypergrid enabled virtual worlds. Not everyone in Opensim is fluent in English. HIE is a 2 day event where residents speak, in their own languages, about about grids they've made, problems they have overcome, their inventions, experiences, and art. And, so that everyone can follow the talks, there are subtitles in German, French, Italian, Spanish and yes, in English too !

Testing for HIE

The past days have been busy on the HIE region as we complete the final run-throughs and tests for our many speakers, artists, and moderators.
We've been testing animations, talks, slideshows, art experiences, outfits, and NPCs - a whole world of informative entertainment about what it means to inhabit this very special platform.
Practicing the 5 person panel for the opening talk
As you know, the talks are given in a range of languages, not English. If you have been to the OSCC conference, held every year in December and organized by Avacon, you will know that the English speaking community is well served by this opportunity to share their innovations and projects at that event. The idea of the Hypergrid International Expo to give voice - and an opportunity to listen - to opensim residents who aren't English speakers.
And so that everyone can enjoy the exotic mix of foreign languages but still follow what's going on, there are subtitles in 6 languages, delivered straight to the Language Group Chat, accessible with a quick click of your mouse.
Important: if you attended this event in the past on Craft, and joined the Subtitle groups there, remember you need to join the new group on HG Safari Grid - the old group won't work here.
There is so much to learn and to enjoy in this year's program, with talks about tech tools, but also people sharing their perspective on the virtual community, plus lessons to be learned about how Opensim can be used to educate, and a fascinating insight into virtual theater...
... and about the future of AI and the impact it will have on our creativity in the future.
We hope you'll join us to hear from Bink Draconia, Cherry Manga, Eva Kraai, Geo Portal, Loru Destiny, Luciana Mattei, MorlitaM, Nadir Rae, Neo Cortex, Salahzar Stenvaag, Tristan Dehaie, Tosha Tyran, and Xirana Oximoxi.

Our event starts with an opening party on Friday 4 April from 11am SLT with Zoree Jupiter, Khiron Ametza, and  Wolem Wobbit.
